The European Commission has adopted a European Charter for Researchers <\/strong><\/a>and a Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong> These two documents, addressed to researchers as well as to employers and funders in both the public and private sectors, are key elements in the European Union's policy to make research an attractive career, which is a vital feature of its strategy to stimulate economic and employment growth. The HR Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)<\/strong><\/a> supports research institutions and funding organizations in the implementation of the Charter & Code in their policies and practices. The logo "HR Excellence in Research" identifies the institutions and organizations as providers and supporters of a stimulating and favourable working environment.<\/p>\n

The HR Strategy for Researchers includes five steps:
\nStep 1 – Internal Gap Analysis
\nStep 2 – HRS4R Action Plan is developed and published
\nStep 3 – Review and Acknowledgement by the European Commission.
\nStep 4 – Implementation and self-assessment
\nStep 5 – External evaluation<\/p>\n

European University Cyprus endorsed the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers in January 2011 and has recently proceeded with the first two steps of the HR Strategy for Researchers.<\/p>\n
