Most of us have already started reflecting on the year that\u2019s about to end. What has been done, what hasn\u2019t, what went well, what failed us\u2026 It\u2019s part of the human nature, reviewing and holding ourselves accountable for what happened is fundamental to self-improvement. During your self-appraisal process, don\u2019t forget two things. One, don\u2019t be too hard on yourself. Sometimes, getting off-course is a part of the course! And two, set tangible, realistic resolutions, even measurable if you can, for the next year. Avoid being too generic and hypothetical, it will only confuse you.<\/p>\n
Finish your big projects 2 days earlier<\/strong><\/p>\n You don\u2019t need the extra pressure. Stretching your deliverables plan, on the project submission date, will stress you and it won\u2019t give you time to assess it with a clear head. More time=better project.<\/p>\n Read, watch or listen something new, once a month.<\/strong><\/p>\n It might be a podcast or a book that\u2019s not included in your academic reading list, or a documentary on a specific subject. Choose a topic relevant to your major and let the learning process begin!<\/p>\n Stick on a budget.<\/strong><\/p>\n That\u2019s a tricky one! You must already know how one small thing can very easily mess up a whole month. Do what a shopper does and play it safe. Make a list of where you plan to spend the majority of your month\u2019s income before hand and thus, you will know how much \u2018space\u2019 there is to spoil yourself.<\/p>\n Make one new friend.<\/strong><\/p>\n Having to socialize with someone other than your group of friends will take you out of your comfort zone. Not only you have a chance to meet someone extraordinary, but also challenge your communication skills.<\/p>\n Wake up early (and make your bed).<\/strong><\/p>\n No more procrastinating in bed and no more delays in class. Setting up a standard time when you get up every morning (yes, weekends included) will give you tons of time to do all the things you want in a day, and yes, making up your bed is one of them.<\/p>\n A new year is coming, start fresh and make the most of it.
